Kishtwar, June 26: Expressing concern over the recent killing spree of civilian youth in the State, a galaxy of around 500 poets, writers and intellectuals in Kishtwar Saturday urged the government to put a stop on such gross violations of human rights.

“We are very sad to know about the continuing deteriorating situation in our Valley. We have to think of the intellectual reaction to whatever is happening in the Valley

The government should immediately take steps to put a stop on such incidents,” said Aziz Hajini, the president of Adabi Markaz Kamraz.

The famous poets of the State who had gathered at AMK’s two-day annual conference expressed grave concern over the situation.

“We would have cancelled the conference had we not travelled such a long distance. However, the killings in Sopore and other places and similar incidents like that need a response from the civil society,” said the poets and writers of the State
