AMK President meets Governor

President Adbee Markaz Kamraz  (AMK) Dr Aziz Hajni  met Governor Mr N N Vohra at Raj Bhawn today to appraise him about the efforts of AMK for promotion and preservation of Kashmiri language and literature. Dr Hajni brought into the notice of Mr Vohra the issues of the Kashmiri language particularly the introduction of Kashmiri at secondary and senior secondary levels.  “Alongwith creating literature, there is need to make the language strong academically and for that purpose it has to be taught as a compulsory evaluative subject,” the Governor was told. The AMK President shared with Mr Vohra the sentiments, demands and concerns of the litterateurs   vis-a-vis  the Kashmiri language and also the popular demand of according it the classical language status.

Mr Vohra appreciated the role of AMK for preservation and promotion of Kashmiri language. He said Kashmiri  is a language with  treasures of literature which have to be promoted and preserved.  “Mr Vohra assured that he will take up the issues including introduction of Kashmiri as compulsory evaluative subject at secondary and senior secondary levels,”Dr Hajni said.
