AMK hails KU’s historic decision

Adbee Markaz Kamraz (AMK) hails the decision of The University of Kashmir to start fellowships for Kashmiri language scholars in  honour of its first Registrar Khawja Ghulam Ahmad Ashai with the support of his family.

The announcement of the University to start two fellowships for  M.Phil and Ph.D candidates  of Kashmiri language in the name of Khawja Ghulam Ahmad Ashai will be direct boost to the efforts of preservation and promotion of Kashmiri language. AMK expresses gratitude to the University authorities particularly the Vice-Chancellor Prof Talat Ahmad for the historic decision to honour a Kashmiri academician and scholar and promotion of the mother tongue of the majority of the State. AMK acknowledges the  personal efforts of Prof Talat Ahmad to promote Kashmiri language through academics at the highest seat of learning under his command. AMK appreciates the statement of  Prof Talat  which he made at the time of announcing the Khawja Ashai Fellowships that “ this (Fellowship) will also give a big boost to Kashmiri language which is in need of attention.” AMK acknowledges the sincere concern of the Vice-Chancellor for Kashmiri language and expects more such initiatives for promotion of the language.

AMK reiterates its commitment to support and appreciate the efforts of any government or non-government institution for the larger interests of Kashmiri language and literature.
